St. Paul’s Choir Sings at Fenway

The students of St. Paul’s Choir School were once again front and center July 19th for the singing of our National Anthem at  “Catholic Night” at Fenway Park. The anthem capped pre-game festivities before the Red Sox played the San Francisco Giants. This is the second year in a row that the choir has sung the  Anthem for Catholic Night. “The boys were very, very excited,” said Choir School music director John Robinson. “It’s an honor to be able to do something like this and show people the singing we do all the time.” Click here to see the anthem! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXNa5_nUR5w

2016 Catholic Appeal Update

WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL!!! Congratulations! In fact, St. Paul’s parish has surpassed its 2016 Catholic Appeal goal with a total collection of $39,004. We are truly grateful to the 61 parishioners and families who helped us reach our goal. The Catholic Appeal provides critical funding to hundreds of pastoral, charitable, and educational programs that impact tens of thousands throughout our Archdiocese. Thank you for responding to Cardinal Seán’s appeal. If you haven’t made a pledge yet, you can still do so by visiting bostoncatholicappeal.org. Now that we’ve reached our goal, a portion of the pledges will be returned to St. […]

Baccalaureate Mass

“On Sunday, May 22nd, we joyfully celebrated our Baccalaureate Mass at 11:00am for all of our Harvard graduates. In the afternoon we took a group of Harvard seniors up the St. Paul’s Bell Tower as well. What a beautiful view from up there! We are very proud of all our graduates, and as we prayed at the end of Mass, may God help them to enliven hope in the world and bring good things to God’s kingdom.” Fr. Mark Murphy/Undergraduate Chaplain

Congratulations, Harvard Graduates!

Congratulations to the Harvard Class of 2016, and especially to all those for whom the Harvard Catholic Center and St. Paul’s Church have been touchstones during your time here.  Please keep in touch after graduation, and visit us at the Harvard Catholic Center whenever you return to campus. Remember, beautiful St. Paul’s Church has been the site of many alumni weddings and baptisms of alumni children over the years, and the priests of St. Paul will be happy to celebrate these sacraments with you and your family. Also, when you are settled after graduation, please forward your contact information to […]

Welcome, Father Kelly!

On Monday, April 25th, Father William T. Kelly officially assumed his new duties as pastor of St. Paul parish, senior chaplain of the Harvard Catholic Center and head of the St. Paul’s Choir School. You might say Father Kelly was destined to become the pastor of St. Paul’s one day, as the idea of becoming a priest first occurred to him when he was a fifth grader at the Boston Archdiocesan Choir School (now called the St. Paul’s Choir School). Fr. Kelly grew up in North Quincy, the oldest of six children. He attended B.C. High, and entered the seminary directly from […]

“Spring into Song!” ~ Choir School Gala!

Congratulations to all who helped to make the Choir School’s 17th annual gala, “Swing into Spring!,” a success. The evening included live and silent auctions, as well as performances by the Choir of Men and Boys and the Alumni Choir.  All proceeds benefit the Choir School as they continue to serve the greater Cambridge community in praising God each day at St. Paul’s Church. Thank you for supporting St. Paul’s Choir School!

Fr. Michael Drea’s Letter to the Parish

Below is the letter to the parish from outgoing pastor Fr. Michael Drea, as he leaves St. Paul’s for his new assignment in Neponset at the St. Ann’s/St. Brendan’s collaborative. In his six-year tenure, Fr. Drea has been a driving force for the parish, the Harvard Catholic Center and St. Paul’s Choir School. With grace and joy he has led this unique parish to become the vibrant soul of Catholic faith in Harvard Square. Thanks for everything, Fr. Drea! Fr. Drea (third from left) with his brother priests Fr. Patrick Armano, Fr. Mark Murphy, and Fr. George Salzmann at his farewell Mass […]
